The Universidad Central del Caribe (UCC), located in Bayamón, Puerto Rico, recently remodeled their medical school library, the Arturo L. Carrión Learning Center. The original library had over 60% of the space occupied by bookshelves and provided study spaces for 40 students. By upgrading to digital collections, the library was transformed into a learning center, with a variety of seating arrangements that include individual study cubicles, group study tables, and private study rooms, increasing the seating capacity to 110 seats. The private rooms have full glass fronts that allow natural light to permeate into the reading area. Accent lighting, warm wood tones, and carefully selected paint colors enhance the space to create a fun and immersive learning atmosphere.
