Menonita Cayey Hospital

The Mennonite General Hospital in Cayey has thoughtfully planned out the significant growth of its campus over the years to respond to the needs of the region. The 61-bed expansion east of the existing hospital building, shown, is the fourth stage in the series of expansions developed since 1998. The first was the General Hospital building (1996-1998), followed by a medical office building (1999-2000), and a 42-bed expansion in the southwest corner of the Hospital (2007). The fourth stage included the interior remodeling of the existing hospital and a new four-story structure adjoining the original building. Patients in semi-private rooms enjoy a view of the mountains through large windows placed at a 45° angle and protected from the sun by planter boxes and curved eaves. Future developments already on the boards include an additional medical office building and multi-story parking structure.
