Universal Insurance

Canóvanas

The main design challenge of the Universal Insurance Client Service Branches was to develop a cohesive architectural vocabulary and corporate identity to make the structures are easily recognizable to customers as part of the Universal Group family throughout the island.

The fourth in these series of Client Service Branches, located in Canóvanas, maintains the vocabulary and materials of its predecessors in Caguas, Ponce and Mayaguez. In the other branches, the large pivoting doors that protect from the sun and provide security when closed. In Canóvanas, these elements are bolder and become monumental pivoting walls. These four walls open up to reveal a large spider-joint-mounted glass-enclosed entry vestibule. Other bold elements include the giant Universal logo letters, sculpted in aluminum, as part of the North façade. They face Road PR-3, acting as signage, as well as oversized shading and privacy elements for the façade.
