The new transformation encourages pedestrian/street-oriented activities, restaurants and other commercial businesses at sidewalk level to enrich the experience of the passerby. The construction of arcades and of two pedestrian connectors facilitates circulation along and between the two main avenues and a monumental lobby calls attention to the entrance of the Tren Urbano (San Juan’s Mass Transit System) and the Puerto Rico Coliseum. On the northern side, there is a new parking facility, connected to the existing one, as well as offices and seven movie theaters on the upper level. On the southern side, there is a dynamic and transparent pavilion for activities, illuminated at night with lights of changing colors, the “new face” of the BPPR in the sector.

The project has contributed to the renovation of Hato Rey’s financial district and to the urban connections in between neighboring projects such as the new Tren Urbano mass transit station and new Coliseo de Puerto Rico.
